Monojit Roy

I am Monojit Roy. I am from a small village of Purulia district of West Bengal, India. After completing my secondary education (10th standard) from Raghunathpur G. D. Lang Institution, Purulia,  where I pursued my higher secondary education also. During that period, I was made inclined toward Chemistry. This made me interested to take admission in the department of Chemistry of Raghunathpur College, Purulia. 
After my graduation, I took the entrance examinations of several institutes like University of Hyderabad (UoH), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali, etc. for M. Sc. Fortunately, I got selected at both HCU and IISER Mohali, and took admission at IISER. While my Masters program, I did three consecutive semester projects on C-C cross coupling reactions under the guidance of Dr. Debashis Adhikari. I also worked under him in a summer project during May 2021 - July 2021. Due to the COVID pandemic, I had an opportunity to have an experience to work in W.F.H. (work from home) mode with Professors M. Nakano and Y. Funahashi from the Department of Materials Engineering Science at Osaka University. From August 2021, I have been holding a PhD position at Prof. Adhikari's lab and am involved in organo-catalysis.
